I celebrated my 10th birthday aboard a ship in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
We were headed to the Netherlands, from where my father had immigrated 15 years earlier.
After spending 3 months in school in Den Haag, the rest of the year was spent travelling around Europe.
By the time we returned to Australia, 12 months later, we had visited 15 countries over 4 continents and I was well and truly addicted to travel.
At the age of 14, I salvaged a Box Brownie my mother was intending to throw out. She generously contributed
my first roll of film. And so began my love of photography.
By the time I turned 17 I knew I had to get back on the road less travelled.
I decided to head to Israel, via Indonesia and Bangkok. I ended up marrying a Kibbutznic and staying three years in Israel.
In the 48 years we've been married we have travelled to a vaste array of destinations from the Antartic to Alaska.
Our guide, Moses, with my sister and me in Egypt, 1967, (I'm the nerd on the right with the shades)
